New Bilinga Childcare Centre Goes Sustainable

Edge Early Learning’s newest childcare centre is set to open at Bilinga on the Gold Coast in December 2019. The Bilinga centre will be one of the first centres within the Edge network moving toward sustainability, by providing children with eco-friendly nappies and wipes.

Made from 100% pure bamboo, these eco-friendly products are biodegradable and therefore more sustainable than regular nappies, which go straight into landfill.

Edge Early Learning Chief Executive Officer, Annie Bryce, said the move to switch over to sustainable products is one of their priorities.

“We have been planning to switch to more sustainable products for quite some time, and the opening of our Bilinga centre is the perfect opportunity to introduce this change, which will carry across to all of our Queensland-based centres in due course, and be introduced into all new Edge centres opening in 2020,” she said.

“These products are completely natural, which is perfect for children with sensitive skin, and they’re also good for the environment.”

Available in four different sizes, the mini panda disposable nappies are super absorbent and have an elastic waistband and triple strength tabs to ensure the child is comfortable at all times.

Available in packs of 80, the new wet wipes are compostable, and naturally moistened with aloe vera and vitamin E to keep a child’s skin smooth, clean and free of any harsh chemicals.

As part of the initiative to move toward sustainability, Edge Early Learning also plan on swapping to plant-based cleaning products and including end-to-end recycling programs in all centres.  They will also be incorporating vegetable gardens, worm farms and compost bins into their educational programs to help teach children about the importance of sustainability.

The new Bilinga centre is currently accepting expressions of interest until it is open for enrolments early next year.

Edge Early Learning currently have eleven centres spread across south east Queensland, including three on the Gold Coast, six in Brisbane, and three centres on the Sunshine Coast.

Edge Early Learning Bilinga is located in front of the Gold Coast Airport at 1 Eastern Ave, Bilinga. Book your centre tour today!
